Charge your EV on excess solar with Wallbox Pulsar Plus

SundialEV connects to your Pulsar Plus over OCPP, the open charger protocol, and adjusts its charging current to your solar surplus minute by minute. It's our most-tested charger, and because SundialEV controls the charger rather than the car, it works with any EV.

Four steps, no new hardware

  1. Connect your solar
    In SundialEV, connect the system that reports your solar and grid — Tesla, Enphase, SolarEdge, Solis, Growatt, an Emporia Vue or Sense monitor, or the push API.
  2. Add the charger
    In EV / Charger setup, choose Set up a wall charger → Wallbox Pulsar Plus. SundialEV shows a connection URL, charge point identity and password.
  3. Point the Pulsar Plus at SundialEV
    In the myWallbox app: Settings → Connectivity → OCPP. Turn OCPP on, enter the three values exactly as shown, save, and restart the charger when prompted.
  4. Turn off Eco-Smart and plug in
    Switch off Eco-Smart in the myWallbox app — SundialEV takes over solar matching, and the two fight if both are on. From then on, charging follows the sun.

What it reads

What Wallbox Pulsar Plus gives SundialEV, and its limits

Known limits

  • Firmware 5.11.14 or newer (update in the myWallbox app).
  • Eco-Smart must be off.
  • Charging can't go below 6 A — the J1772/IEC minimum — so very small surpluses wait rather than trickle.
  • The charger doesn't report solar or grid: connect a solar source too.

Which EVs work: Any EV — SundialEV controls the charger, not the car, so the brand doesn't matter. Ford Mustang Mach-E, F-150 Lightning and E-Transit owners can also connect their Ford account (beta) so SundialEV reads the car's real battery level and charges to a target.

Frequently asked questions

Is SundialEV a replacement for Wallbox Eco-Smart?
It does the same job — charging from surplus solar — using your solar system's own cloud data instead of a Wallbox power meter, and it adds NEM 3.0 savings tracking, avoid-hours and a sell-at-peak window. Turn Eco-Smart off when you switch; the two fight if both run.
Do I need a Wallbox power meter?
No. SundialEV reads production and grid from your inverter, battery or home energy monitor through the cloud.
Which cars work?
Any EV that charges on the Pulsar Plus. SundialEV controls the charger, not the car.
